Workshops: Field Sketching

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION  Field sketches are simple but identifiable drawings executed out of doors from direct observation. Observe and record plants, flowers and their growth habits. Along the way, international instructor of botanical arts/natural science illustration Cynthia Padilla demos technique. Emerge with a sketchbook of careful studies, quick scribbles, convincing renderings, diminutive landscape vignettes, notes & notations, measurements & musings and the confidence to continue this beloved tradition, pairing art and science, on your own.

We work out of doors, en plein air, so dress for all conditions.

Welcome art and nature enthusiasts, the curious, and educators desiring to integrate these activities.
